Learning Intensions:
Pupils recap
on the 12 different types of painting from the previous class and their new
theme (Our Waters). Pupils will recap on the definition of a composition and consider
different layouts and prepare one to present to the class. Each pupil will
receive feedback for their CBA1.
Success Criteria:
Pupil will recap
on the different painting techniques learnt and the meaning of a composition.
Pupils will begin to explore the different compositions to present to the class
in the double on Thursday. Each pupil will receive one to one feedback on their
CBA1.
Resources/Health &
Safety:
Poster,
acrylic and water colour paints. Basin of water, pallets, and paint brushes.
All pupils will be instructed to roll up their sleeves to ensure to protect
their uniforms.
Literacy &
Numeracy:
Pupils will recap
on the 12 different painting techniques, these are as follows: drybrush, wash,
stippling, pouring, splattering, sponging, impasto, sgroffitio, underpainting,
glazing, and scumbling. I will call on pupils to recap on the definition of a composition, Composition is how we
compose or arrange what is in a picture (our subject matter).
Differentiation:
A seating
plan will be in place as I will be given one on one feedback to each pupil and
therefore won’t be watching the whole group all the time. I will be calling the
pupils alphabetically for their feedback as not to cause a fuse amongst the
pupils.
Method:
Introduction:
To begin I
will call on pupils to recap on the different types of painting techniques and
to recap on the definition of a composition. Each pupil must present to the
teacher at least 5 possible layouts and painting techniques for their final
piece. I will be taking each pupil aside to give them feedback on their CBA1.
Development:
Using the
RECAP techniques to rejog the pupils member of what the group completed before
midterm. RECAP; R: read and
recall, E: engage in discussion, A: apply what is learnt, P:progress and
performance. Discovery learning, through the exploration of the
different types of paints, pupils will select which works for them. Feedback
will be received one to one by each pupil regarding their CBA1.
Summery/Revision/Conclusion:
I will
gather the pupils attention at 9.20 and go through each pupils work to ensure
they have met today learning intentions. All pupils will pack up at 9.25
placing tables back into sets of 4 and 5 ready for lunch.
