Learning intentions/
Success criteria
|
Using
their Visual Art sketchpad, pupils must research, explore and
develop their ideas to create a realised work based on one of the
themes listed above. It is essential that pupils use primary sources
appropriate to their chosen theme. Pupils will work individually to create
one realised painting but work as a group to create a unit to display in an
exhibition.
Pupils
will:
·
critique an artwork using
critical and visual language.
·
use drawings to communicate their personal outlook or understanding.
·
examine the method of a number of artists and the artwork they created.
·
debate the value that they and society place on an artwork.
·
identify the use of art elements and design principles within an
artwork.
·
consider the use of the art elements and design principles in their own
artwork.
·
identify media which are used to create artwork.
|

Prior knowledge
|
Pupils
have covered the basics of observational drawing in first year. At the
beginning of this year pupils recapped on the art elements and were
introduced to the principles of design.

28/02/19 Workshop 6 3D Mixed Media Sculpture & Preparatory Work At the start of the 3D mixed media sculpture I struggled with the entail concept when a bag of miscellaneous objects where placed in front of me to sketch. I began exploring a few of the object such as a computer hard drive, a wooden shoe, a trumpet and various piece of metal. As I was struggling to conceptualise my design I turned to card and start to experiment with shape. In my under graduate model making was required with every design, thus card and cardboard are very familiar materials to me. I began by exploring various shapes and how they might interact with each other. As I was trying to make my objects support themselves, I came up with the idea of a gravity defying piece. If the observer sees the structure I wanted them to question how is it being supported. I wanted the piece to be comprised of many different materials and geometric shapes to emphasis the structure and allow...
